Top SIX! How to Evaluate Prospective Job Opportuni Top SIX! How to Evaluate Prospective Job Opportunities

1. What does the research say? They've worked hard to assess if you're suitable for the position, but have you done your research? (i.e. retention rate, company culture, values, mission)

2. Benefits & Perks- Have a thorough understanding of the benefits and perks associated with the position. Don't hesitate to ask for help! 3. What's your ENDGAME? Where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?

4. What’s the money looking like? Let’s be honest! It’s not just about the money but about the money! Is the salary offered equitable? Considering your education, experience, skills/ certifications, etc.

5. Be VALUE Driven! Understand what qualities are important to you in a prospective employer. What are your non-negotiable core values? Do they align?

6. What skills does this position allow you to master? Do they align with your endgame?

“I am extremely honored to be awarded this year's Bill Chisholm Professional Service Award. While this is an individual award, none of this would be possible without the amazing women behind the scenes that make MWISM go, and the support the EDAC community has shown us since the very beginning. Thank you for joining us on our journey to level the playing field.”

The Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee presents the Bill Chisolm Professional Service Award annually since 1994 to recognize an individual who has contributed to the development and enhancement of ethnically diverse athletic trainers. This year, the committee chose two recipients for this award. Today, we announce Andrea Durham, Athletic Trainer/ Instructor, Bullis School (Potomac, MD) @bullisathletics and founder of Minority Women in Sports Medicine, Inc. as one of our 2023 award recipients. Congratulations!

Andrea will be formally honored at the EDAC Town Hall Meeting in Indianapolis during NATA.
